Who can foster?

  • Adults with a secure, stable home environment
  • Able to commit time to settling and basic training
  • Other pets should be vaccinated; dogs usually neutered

Home setup checklist

  • Safe, enclosed garden; baby gates to create calm zones
  • Crate or quiet space, comfy bed, bowls, leads, ID tag
  • Cleaning supplies, chew toys, and a non‑slip mat

First week routine

  • Keep things quiet; short walks; let the dog decompress
  • Consistent feeding and toilet schedule; reward calm behaviour
  • Limit visitors; gradual introductions to resident pets

Vet care and costs

Rescues typically cover routine vet costs and provide guidance. Keep receipts and follow the coordinator’s instructions.
